In partnership with the Community Foundation of Western Iowa, (our 501c3 Fiscal Sponsor), the Tech Access and Inclusion Fund (formerly the Omaha Data Science Academy Scholarship Fund) has created a fund that will provide dollars to train individuals enrolled in the Omaha Data Science Academy.

The TAIF has two goals:

    1. To provide Access for low-income individuals to a high-paying careers that can improve their quality of life and build generational wealth.
    2. To diversify tech’s workforce by recruiting historically underrepresented populations in tech.

Our goal of the TAIF is to cover the cost of training to be in the data field, with a significant proportion of scholarships (at least 75%) allocated to women, BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, and People of Color), and/or to low-income individuals from across the region. Live-streamed training takes place twice a week, making it accessible to people without childcare, with disabilities, and without transportation.

TAIF will recruit from across the Omaha/Western Iowa metro region, with a heavy focus on low-income areas in North and South Omaha.

WHO WE ARE

HISTORY

Established in late 2022, the Tech Access and Inclusion Fund was originally designed to reach those individuals who, during COVID, had burned through savings, and taken on debt to survive. The grant is now for all that qualify and want to make a better life for themselves.

To date, the Fund has provided scholarships for 22 individuals who have received multiple certificates in Data Visualization, Business Intelligence, Machine Learning, and the Fundamentals of Data Science.

MISSION

To provide some or all the tuition necessary for historically underrepresented people to receive training in data so they can go on to full the growing need in the Omaha Metro area.

VISION

Our vision is to be a beacon of light for those who need help getting into data and with our help build generational wealth for them and their families.
